 CABLE COMPARTMENT AND INSTALLATIONS

 

Do primary test on CT’s and if suspect do magnetizing curves to check
CT saturation.
Check for loose LV connections on CT’s and do a doctor test to check HV
Contacts. Do inspection on cable terminations for telltale signs on heatshrink .
Check for discoloration and weeping on termination end and arcing in
Termination crotch.

SUPPLY USED SWITCHGEAR

Refurbished switchgear at a lower cost quicker deliveries. Any protection
and CT ratio’s can be fitted on these panels.

DUCTOR TEST

Injecting a 100 A DC across contact points to measure the resistance
between two contact points.

OPEN GAP

Earth one side of CB contact and inject 2X the rated voltage on the
other side with the CB open.

PRESSURE TEST
Injecting 2X voltage rating into the switchgear to check insulation
Levels between phases and earth and phase to phase

Switchgear Maintenance

Oil circuit breaker Check oil for contamination, check external and internal contact points. (For arcing and discoloration caused by hot contacts) Check tank gaskets. Check trip mechanism and trip coils. A ductor And pressure test will be done on the circuit breaker. Vacuum Circuit breaker Check external contact points for arcing and discoloration caused by hot contacts. Check flash barriers for damage and heat damage check LV contact for loose and damaged contacts. Do an open Gap and AC Pressure Test on Vacuum bottles, to confirm Vacuum in bottle. Test the wear gap on the breaker to assess wear on Contact points. Check raking in and out mechanism and lubricate if necessary. Clean damper to prevent slow closing. Check trip, close mechanism and coils If breaker has an electronic charge mech, check gear mechanism and Micro switches.

SF 6 CIRCUIT BREAKERS

Check gas pressure in circuit breaker. Check for arcing and disolation to check for heat damage. Do an open Gap and AC pressure test on Check rating in and out mechanism and lubricate if necessary. Check trip, close mechanism and coils if breaker has an electric charge mech, check gear mechanism and check micro switches. RELAY HOUSING Check for loose connections. Check secondary functions on protection Relay, Inspect panel for wiring changes not shown on the drawings and rectify.

Modifications and upgrading Where equipment is still in a sound condition we can upgrade and or modify in order to extend its useful life, increase capacity or fit it with new plant automation systems.
